ISIM formerly called IBM Tivoli Identity Manager (ITIM), continues to be known as ITIM or just TIM in industry circles.
Unstructured data, by virtue of not having a centralized entitlement store, sits outside normal identity and access controls, forcing IT to ignore data security or invest significantly in stand-alone solutions outside their preferred IAM methods. With unstructured data representing – by some reports – 80% of all organizational data this lack of process and control leaves organizations open to the worst impacts of data loss.
Tangentia, Inc. has developed a companion product called TGUD (Tangentia Governance for Unstructured Data) which integrates Stealthbits’ unstructured data entitlement store to ISIM. This integration will enable intelligent, automated provisioning of user access to unstructured data, process enforcement to prevent unapproved changes and effective business ownership of access through periodic entitlement reviews.
